Hello Everyone

I hope that you are doing well today. First of all I want to take time out to remember the passing of Majel Barrett Roddenberry who guest starred in Babylon 5: Point of No Return and she plays Nurse Christine Chapel in Star Trek and does the computer voice in all Star Trek Movies and tv series. I hear that the last thing Majel did do some voice work in up coming Star Trek movie. We will miss her.

I did see JR last Saturday and talked to him about the upcoming ConCarolinas 2009. JR has been doing a great job keeping the group up to date on the convention.
.
Del Rey is going to put on a new manga called Wolverine : Prodigal Son Volume 1 in April. Tokyopop is putting out a mangas of Battlestar Galactica : Echoes of New Caprica and Star Trek : Ultimate Edition in April. I told JR that is very hard at times to try find a way to promote manga. I can easily tell you about Fushigi Yugi: The Masterious Play story created by artist and writer Yuu Watase. However, I have never read or seen Absolute Boyfriend, or Alice 19. I do have one old comic book of Ceres: Celestial Legend. I've been having some fun time trying to read The Melancholy of Harui Suzumiya. I remember the best line out of the that anime series.

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are doing well today .Over the Chirstmas holiday I
got a chance to see an anime called They Were 11 by artist and
writer Moto Magio. They Were 11 trades on Japanese folklore for
it's inspiration . Kenji Miyazana is considered by many fans the
Jules Verne of Japan.They Where 11 came to the USA in 1992.

I have a question for members of NC Rowan County Anime Group, has
anyone heard the J-pop singer Yunmao Ayakawa ? I've just seen the
picture of her cosplaying as Lum from
Urusei Yatsura in Outaku USA Magazine.

Some time ago I was talking to a person about my childhood back in
the 1970s, I went to a Royal Ambassador Christ camp called Camp
Caroway. My late Mother used to wash my dirty laundry. At Camp
Caroway, we went to visit some old gold mines. We climbed a place
that kids nicknamed Sliprock Mountain. One of these days I want to go
see Camp Caroway after all these years

I don't know why I'm thinking about this. Back in 1987, I was
visting Bill Nalin who lived in Reidsville, NC. I had this old
raggedy Science Fiction book. In the back of this book, it had a listing of
science fiction shows like Andromeda Breakthrough, Moonbase 3, UFO,
Knigths of God,Time Slip,Space 1999, Wild Wild West. We both had a
good time talking about science fiction shows that we had seen in
the past.

Now I am going to change gears again. I used to have a pet dog
named Brownie Boy. I got the name from an old Brownie Boy soft drink.
He was a very good pet to have. Lisa and myself used to play with
Brownie. Every fall we'd rake up a big pile of leaves and jump in
them. We'd take Brownie Boy and throw him into the leaves and
say, "Happy Brithday, Brownie". Buttons was the family pet cat.
Buttons used to rub up against Brownie. Brownie Boy would put his
head up in the air; he knew he couldn't do a thing against that cat! As a
puppy, Brownie Boy one time did chase the cat up a tree. Mom got very
mad ! She took a broom to Brownie. She told Bownie that one thing he
was not going to do was chase her cat! Buttons was one last present
that my late grandma had given to mom.
.
One time out on the Yadkin River, Dad and I were fishing. I was
popping my cork up and down in the water. Dad asked, "Son, what are
you doing?" I replied, " I am hypnotizing the fish. I was about sixs
year old at the time. Dad said, " I don't believe it's going to."
Then the cork went under the water and I caught a fish. After the
catching of my five fish, I saw dad bobbing his cork in the water. I
asked him, Dad what are you doing?" He replied, " I am hypnotizing
the fish!"

I saw a preview of Death Note in Shonen Jump and found it to be
interesting...haven't read any of the other episodes, though.

Death Note is a very good anime series. But it is not the first time
that I've seen a story of two people who believe that their beliefs
amount to a righteous cause. Back in 1989, I tried to read the Dr
Who paperback called The Crusades written by David Whitaker, guest starring Julian Glover as King Richard and Jean Marsh as Princess Joanna. Later on I saw episodes 1 and 3 and heard the audio of the two missing episodes 2 and 4 .That story takes place during the 12th- century Holy Crusades and focuses on the conflict between Richard the Lionhearted and Sacacens.

The second time I saw that type story about two forces in righteous
conflict was in Conqueror's Saga done by writer
Timothy Zahn.
.
Now let me change gears here. Back at Monstore Con 2008, I was busy talking to writer Dan Johnson. I told Dan that a long time ago back in the early part of the 1970s, my parents took me and my sister to Blowing Rock, North Carolina to theTweetsie Railroad. Yes, people, we did meet Fred Kirby there. Mom talked to Fred a little bit
about a show that he was on a long time ago. It was also my first
time I got the chance see a Kinetoscope in action. Kinetoscope used
a crank in order have a moving picture. Kinetoscope was around in
1891. I told Dan at the time both of us was at Monstore Con 2008
that there is no evidence to authenticate that the Japanese were
doing animation in Kinetoscope around that time. The very first
animation films were Humorus Phase of Funny Faces 1906 by J Sturat Blackton and Fantasmagorie 1908 Frech by Emile Cohl.

Now going to go back to Death Note again. I have to agree with
Matthew Plummer that Death Note was a very popular anime series for 2008. But it was not the pentical anime series for me this year.
That goes to an anime series called Gasaraki made in 1997 directed
by Ryosuke Takahashi. A Pandrora's Box type of story, ADV Films did get the distribution rights here in the U.S.A.

I want to start this letter off with a quote today.

I want to share this e mail with you in order to be fair to the
other person's point of view. I did edit the curseword out .
.
I'm just going to stand up for our podcast - we all have a large
impressive vocabulary, as we're all well educated. But the fact of
the matter is: we're not turning a report in to our teacher at
school. This is something we're doing for recreation, and cussing is
a natural part of life. Cuss words are part of vocabulary just as
much as anything else is.
.
Your mother sounds extremely old fashioned. When I was ten,
perhaps, and cussed in front of my mother, I would have been
reprimanded. But now that I'm an adult, my parents cuss right along
with me and all my friends and don't even blink an eye over it.
.
Also, in no way are we trying to "cuss to look cool" or, as you
said, gain the respect of our peers. We talk the way we do in our
podcast because it's how we naturally speak. If people are offended
by our podcast & choice of language, then it's obvious our show
isn't for them and they should try one of the hundreds of other
anime podcasts that don't choose to be as crass as we are. There
are plenty of people out there that either overlook our language
choices, or laugh along with us.

Just letting you know! Not everyone shudders every time someone
says "%^$*." :D
.
Now here is my answer back to you. I am going to use something that
happened to me in life. So please bear with me. Back in 1994 I was
at a comic book show being put on by Acme Comics in Greensboro,
North Carolina. I saw the Editor of Marvel Comics reviewing an art
portfolio. He give some of the best advice that I've ever heard.
His example involved a sandbox. If you are playing in your sandbox
by yourself, you can do what ever you want. Because that's your
sandbox. But once you go into another person's sandbox you have to
play by their rules. You will find out in life that business is
like our sandboxes. In other words, if you have a company whose
rule states that no cursing is acceptable in communication, you have
to do what they say or lose your job. I did talk to my new boss
about cursing at Woodleaf Lanes. He told me this: If I am in a
bar with my freinds having a beer it is ok to say a curseword. But
Mike also said if I am at work up front where the customers can hear
me, I have to follow proper etiquette at work and watch my
language. In business the most important thing is your customer.
You are a very smart person - go out to the public and ask this
questions. Is it ok to use cursewords as a form of communiction
in a public place? You will find that the no's will always
outnumber the yes's everytime. Lets face facts, if a mother takes
her child to Chuck E Cheese and the staff is using cursewords, the
mother is going to be very upset with the business and most likely
will tell other people about her experience. If you go into a
dentist's office in pain, the last thing you want to hear is the
dentist's secretary saying: Hey Dentist Mitchell, this #$%^ fool
needs one of his teeth pulled today. There is one last thing I want
to cover with you. Let me off start with a quote.

Please let us not forget the Eisenhower domino effect. The Internet
is a type of public fourm. People can go to your anime pod cast
from all over the world - even a very young person. If you try to
pass down important information and you're using cursewords, most
likely the person will stop and not finish the post cast because
they are offended. They would do this before you can say the word
omomatopoeia. This defeats your purpose for the anime pod cast.
What about being a role model to your listeners and acknowledging
the effect speech has on other people. Think about it sometime.

Rain is a four letter word. Boy, are we getting it here in Salisbury
today. First of all I want to share this posting from the NC Rowan
County Anime Group .

I heartily concur with the kind words about ConCarolinas. I've
worked at and attended conventions since 1974, from local relaxacons
held in a rented room to Worldcons and Dragon*Cons that sprawl over
multiple large hotels. And I must say, ConCarolinas is just the
right size for me - large enough to offer a variety of activities,
but not big enough to be crowded or frustrating.
.
I helped with the failed Charlotte 2004 Worldcon bid, which
supported the origination of ConCarolinas. The past two years, my
wife and I have attended this Charlotte affair and have enjoyed it
very much. Last year, the live-fire AirSoft range and the Zombie
Walk were two events I found very unusual and enjoyable. And the
Boogie Knights provide excellent comedic entertainment.
.
Presently, I assist with my local in Roanoke, Virginia. SheVaCon,
held this year February 27 - March 1, 2009 (see shevacon.org for
info) is a general interest s-f, fantasy & horror con that some
members would probably enjoy. But I have to admit that for me,
working a con is not as much fun as simply being a carefree
attendee. So I hope to be able to continue coming to ConCarolinas
in the future.

Issue 64 of the magazine Anime Insider has reported that ADV Films
has picked up the distribution rights on Princess Resurrection
animation done by Madhouse Studio and story by Yasunori Mitsuaga. I
also saw on the back page of Anime Insider an advertisement for an
anime movie called Sword Of The Stranger. Stan Lee calls Sword Of
The Stranger "both visually amazing and emotionally compelling.
Stranger is a great anime film with non stop action." Note here:
Stan Lee is the creator of Spiderman, X-Men and Iron Man. Bandai
Entertaiment is backing this film in the United States. Has anyone
seen the anime series called Dark Than Black?

Thanks for letting me know that Majel Barrett Roddenberry died. I
had not heard anything about her passing. Chris and I had the
privilege to see her once at a con. She was a gracious lady in a
beautiful golden pants suit who read a mostly prepared speech, but
who, nonetheless, projected a warmth and love of Star Trek that went
beyond mouthing the words printed upon the page. She was genuinely
SO grateful to the fans for their years and years of support and
that also was apparent in her voice and demeanor at the podium.
This site contains a piece on her funeral by a friend and fellow
Trekker and is worth a reading.

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are doing well today. It has stop raining here in Salisbury right now.

F.Y.E at the Concard Mills Mall we will be having the Anime Spectacular on Saturday January 31, 2009 at 12:00 pm and the Cosplay contest 12:30pm this is a very small event. Sadly I will not be able to attend. I have to work that Saturday. I am trying to see about taking some vacation time off to go What Hell of Con at Guilford Collage in Greensboro.

Cosplayers are some of the kindnest people to meet at times. I remember my first pure anime convention Animazement 2003.The hard work that the Cosplayers put into there costumes is really something and willingness to pass down information make them alot of fun just talking to them. I was a bit of a newbe a that covention. The term newbe means someone new just getting into a group or someone is learning a new thing. The first time I heard trem was when looking at the anime series called Comics Party episode 1.

Note to Susan Hock. I did seen picture of Matt Smith the new Eleventh Doctor Who on the BBC Dr Who web site. I am looking forward seen the upcoming episodes.

Last night I just got done looking at anime series called

ConCarolinas. I've compiled a list of emails, one for each company in
the Anime company list in our file section, and some extras like Right
Stuf. Last year I couldn't get any because the companies I contacted
wanted proof that I wasn't just one person looking for freebies. So I'm
going to use the follow up protocol to replace my email with the
group's. This will show that it's for an actual Anime group and any

I hope that you are doing well today. I had some new people whom just joined my blog and I got a new place called Watercooler at W.F.A.E that I am now posting on. So for a little bit of time . I will be rehashing some information.

Manga is type of Japanese comic book that started in 1814 with artist Hokusai . Maga read left to right. In America we read right to left. Japanese animation started in 1917. There have been many good comic book artists over the years in Japan like Hiroshi Hirata ,Rumiko Takahishi, Osamu Tezuka, Koo Kojima.
.
Rumiko Takahishi is female artist that has done four very successful anime tv series. You can check out some of her work on Cartoon network at late night . Please look at the series called Inu Yasha.
.
These days mangas can found in Books-A-Million , Waldenbooks , comic books stores , F.Y.E. and some used book stores like Edward Mckays.
.
Some mangas are a target for young kids to older teenagers and have a variety of stori. Here is part of a report I did sometime ago on Wallflower series.

Now let me tell you about the anime series and manga called Wallflower. The Story of Wallflower is about an Aunt whome is willing to let four beautiful young boys stand on her home rent free if they can turn her niece into a respectable young lady. What we have here is other story of Taming Of The Shrew. An our shrew's name is Sunako Nakahara which is the ultimate candidate for the Addam's Family you ever want to meet! Sunako loves horrormovies ,ghosts, deamons ,vampires,skeletons. Sunako takes a bookleaf out of Count Manzeppi of the Wild Wild West TV series" If you can't beat them . Kill them!" The creator of Wallflower is Tomoko Hayakawa . Hayakawa's dream home is having a mansion like the Addams Family lives in. If I remember right there is a stuffed life size bear in the mansion in the tv series. I can see the Japanese animal humane society is really going to not love you at all ! Plus in the Addam's Family mansion you have all types of insectivorous plants. It will not be easy home to keep up.

I hope that you are doing well. It is cold here in Salisbury today. Here is list of anime titles for you to check out.

1. Sister Princess : Story about Watarn Minakami, who finds out that
he has thirteen younger sisters. Imported by ADV Films. How did I
learn about this anime series ? ADV Films sent a DVD promotion to NC Rowan County Anime Group. I got hooked just seeing episode 1. So now I own the whole 7 volume
series! My favorite are the Sister Princess episodes: E-mail with Bro, Season of Love, One day just two of us, Box Lunch of Love. Good show to be played at family time hour.

2.EX Drivers movie: Imported by Geneon.This story take place in the
far Future. Good bit of the people in the world don't drive their cars; computer take care of all driving. But what happens if something goes wrong. Group called Ex Driver helps stop rogue vehicles. I got Ex Drivers the movie at Big Lots . It only cost me
$3.00 dallors. It was a very good deal. Note: Media Blaster has the
rigths to the OVA Series.

3.Sakura Wars TV series: Based on a video game in Japan called
Sakura Taise, done by Sega. Action adverture series set in the early part of the 1920s. Dark warrior named Satani tries to resurrect ancient evil. The only thing stopping him is the Imperial Flower Combat Troop. Imported by ADV Films .
.
4 .Earth Maiden Arjuna: Anime series imported by Bandi. It's an
enviromental story. I first saw this series as a fan sub called Earth Girl Arjuna. At
our Jan 2007 meeting of the NC Rowan County Anime Group, it took up a bit bit of time just talking if it was name Girl or Maiden was the right Japanese translation. Bandi has also imported series like Outlaw Star and all Gundam, Argento Soma .

5.Vampire Princess Miyu Tv series :Imported by Tokyo Pop. I enjoy this anime because it reminds me of stories that have been done by the DC comics series of Witching Hour and The Unexpected..
.
6.Metal Overman King Gainer:Science Fiction created and Driector by
Yoshiyuki Tomino. Imported by Bandi. This is the story about Gainer Sanga, a young man who joins a group of people trying to escape from the Siberian Railway to a land called Yapan. If you take the Y out of Yapan, change it to J, you would have Japan.Yoshiuyki Tomino has also worked on Moblic Suit Gundam. How I learned about this series I
was by checking the Bandi web site .

7.Rahxephon: Imported by Adv Films. Psychedelic science fiction.
There is some picturns in the open credits that look like came out of an acid vision of Alice into the Looking Glassed- very well done. This is the story about Ayato Kamina. He joins forcec with Reika Mishia, Haruka Shitow and Quon Kisaragi to unlock the secret to a world that is infused with sound.This is another anime series that Marlene Ivanovich showed me. 8. Battle Dolls Angelic Layer : One best sory that comes to mind is about a young girl 12 years old who gets off at a train station at Tokyo. Her name is Misaki Suzuhara. She wanders around the station. A man at the station looks at the lost child . He has a very long white coat and wears glasses .His name is Icchan. He is a doctor or the mad scientist! He tries to secretly follow her outside the train station. Outside Misiaki sees a big screen TV on a building. She sees two women fighting; one woman is dressed in black, is very big and looks like a cyberpunker and the other is smaller, dressed in white. Two younger kids come up behind Misiaki yelling a name out called Anglic Layer! I will not go into any more about the story. It is one of Clamp's best stories. Rowan Public Library does have the whole series on DVD.

9.All Pupose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku OVA series: When inventer Kyusaku Natsume transfers the brain of his son's cat into a super android body, both son and father gain a new family member. The young girl is named Nuku Nuku. If you are a fan of the old Roadrunner cartoons you are really going to love this series! Believe it or not. Good comedy. Rate it A+.

10.Aura Battler Dunbine: I wanted to kick myself ! This anime series needed to be played a very long time ago in North Carolina. A young motorcross racer named Show Zama is teleported to a world called Byston Well. He is trying to stop the conguest of Byston Well and the invasion of planet Earth.

11.Neo Ranga: Note here this is not a little kids series. It does have a good bit of nudity. Three young sisters Minami, Ushio, and Yuuhi unwittingly link to Neo Ranga. Neo Ranga believes himself to be a god who can control time. A Godzilla super-size monster! Neo Ranga has a lot of powerful foes coming after him in this series.

12.Final Fantasy Unlimited: This has really nothing to do with the video game of Final Fantasy. But it dose make for a good family show ! Two twin children named Ai and Yu go on a quest to find their missing parents. Go onto magic train into Wonderland. I love big yellow bird in the story. Rowan Public Library does have the box set to this series. Genzo did computer work on this series. Good show for young kids,

13 .Gantz: Ever played the role playing game called Paranoia? Well, Gantz is just bad and sick people. Question is who made Gantz and why ? Good horror story. Note this anime is not for little kids, people.

14. Steamboy :If you are looking for a nice and fun action movie and anime series, may I suggest the movie Steamboy featuring the outstanding voice work of Anna Paquin, Alfred Molina and Patrick Stewart. Is power of science good or evil ? Is the theme to this movie.
Good movie to show kids .

Hello Everyone

Here is copy of report that I done on What Hell of Con 2008. I hope that you enjoy read it.

So here I was at long last at Guilford College on a very warm and beatiful day. After Nathan Rider had parked the car. I asked Nathan if I could take pictures of him and a friend and plus a picture of myself.

As we walked up to a display outside i asked a question to a young female member of the Society of Creative Anaschihronism . I said to the lady can you please help this poor old vagabond the directions to the registration . She answered just follow the chalk line it will lead you to the registration. I tipped my hat to her and said thank you. Then I was on my way with Nathan and his friend to registration. I start filking . Using the old Wizard of Oz Follow The Yellow Brink Road. Here is just a little example song.

We hear , we hear that is wondewrful
hell of a convention . We go to it ,
because because, we wanted to have a great old time.

About that time Nathan and his friend got a good chuckle out of my sillliness. I was floating around that convention a good bit.

After stopping by registration and droping off flyers. My first stop was the Anime video for about 30 minutes. Most of anime I had already seen thanks to ADV Films club.

So I left and went to the classic Sci - Fic video room. I saw for the first time an episode of Angel and again the unaired X Men animated pilot plus my
favorite episode of the Prisoner : Hammer Into Anvil. I told the person
running the video room that was i in fandom for many years. That seen
Quatermass 2 and classed Dr Who , Blakes 7, Timeslip episodes.
It made me wish that I could bring some of my VHS video tapes and got
permission to show him the old Hammer Horror film Plague of the Zombies.

RW came into the room and that was a welcome surprise.RW was looking great. RW asked me if I had seen Lisa Conner yet . My answer was no at that time. I did see Lisa Conner later on.RW left the room to go eat. In a few minutes time I left the room and started looking for Dan Johnson.

Mr Harlan Ellison was right it's not the big convention thats fun . It is the small and little ones that you can get personal with the guests and that you have the most fun.

But then again like my late Mother said to me. If you go out looking for enemys . You will find enemys! So try looking for friends instead.


After sometime, I did get a chance to see Dan Johnson. We talked about my sister Lisa and her kids. I told Dan a little about what was going with ADV Films these days. Dan asked me about Marlene Ivanovich . I replayed the last time I heard from her and reported she was doing well. Most likely Marlene was very busy that weekend. Dan told me a wonderful story about Forrest Tucker and Larry Storch when they used to work on a kids' series called Ghostbusters back in the 1970s on CBS.

I did also talk to a person who claimed to be responsible for running the fan tables at this year's Stellar Con /Deep South Con. I told him that I most likely
would be helping with High Point's anime club fan table or Bonaventure (note: Star Trek club, plus - if permitted - ConCarolinas' 2008 fan table. I do do have a question about that this year.

Some of the Guilford College people were coming to look at the buttons on my coat . They asked me questions about Dr Who, Doom Patrol, Avengers.

What really impressed me was the group of young people dressed up in costume, including Elesworld and Justice League of America Steampipes 1890s. Sandman with a top hat was my favorite.

After that night I met up with some people running a table for a new store in Greensboro called The Castle. We talked about the anime series called
RocketGril , Le Chevalier D Eon, WallFlower ,Genskinen, Babylon 5 episode called A Voice in the Wilderness part 1. I told them thatI'd been to bad Stellar Cons and good ones over the years. One young lady asked me a question about what I thought about the upcoming Stellar Con/Deep South Con this year. I answered with guests like Tiffany Grant , Matt Greenfield , sensual Cherlyn Lambeth, writer Timothy Zahn, you can't go to wrong with the show.

Hello Patrick Lamm and Everyone

I hope that you are doing well today.Over the last four years NC
Rowan County Anime Group has given away at ConCarolinas Convention
maps of Rowan County ,Comic Books , anime post cards , anime
newsletters, catalogs from Animeigo ,small cups ,t-shirts,candy and
toy rings. At Monstore Con 2008 we have given out 25 free bowling
passes from Woodlead Lanes.

I always want to try to crank up a notch at the conventions with the
NC Rowan County Anime Group and keep our integrity intact at the
same time Patrick.To keep the NC Rowan County Anime Group purpose.

A. To have fun.
B. To promote Anime & Manga on the internet
and Rowan County.
C. To discuss up coming conventions.
D. To educate people to Japanese animation
customs.
E. Allow individual to be themselves.

Back in my high school days . Back when I was a freshman some
pals of mine started new club called the Hobby . Believe it or not
the clubs first President was James Austin. I did the post artwork
for the club. I did posters and drawings of Wonder Woman and Uncle
Sam saying : We want you to join the Hobby club! We talked about
how to do model airplanes plus cover a little bit about comic book
collecting . In my sophmore year I left the Hobby club and for the
next year i joined the Drama club. I was hoping that they could use
my artwork to help out with advertising of drama plays. Things did
not work out as planned. So in my senior year I became a member of
the Art club. One day two young girls came into Miss Burgin's art
class and said that they where members of the Hobby club . Over the
four years the Hobby club had regenerated from building Models and
Comic Books collecting into making crafts and necklaces. Boy talk
about your chance of purposes!

Co-President Tim Will told me . Back at some of the convention that
he gone to the first three years you could see a new club up a nd
running a fun table and making their own promotional flyers. But in
the four years starting the club seem not so happy and they started
cutting back . In the five year no one care if had a table at the
show. I believe in that case the club has lost their focus.
.
Things can be difficult at times about the right amount of
information that you can try give out at one time to a person . Do
you talk about the history of anime plus manga ? Question number two
do you talk about english dubbed actors or japanese actors and J-
pop? What about real places in Japan and Japenese food plus
animation companys .

Hello, Everyone,

I hope that you are doing well. Today I feel like talking about individuality. It has been talked about a lot in the past.

It was a theme that was also used in the 1960s TV series of The Prisoner and again in one episode of Star Trek the Next Generation, title Ensign Ro.

I remember the scene very well from the episode of Star Trek the Next Generation.Geordi Laforge is talking to Guinan about Ensign Ro not fitting the mold of a Star Fleet officer. Guinan gets up from her chair and walks away, saying this is a person I need to meet.

Many times in my life people have tried to peg me by saying that you are just anime fan or Dr Who fan. They forget that I am also a person who is individual with feelings and personal convictions.

I find that once you start cutting off the person's right to be individual, the next step is to stop the person's right to be creative and imaginative. By that time you end up with nothing but an empty shell. Not very useful to anyone at all.

In two anime series - Moon Phase and Brain Powered - they talked just a little bit about a person's personlity being completely crushed.

Outside of myself, does anybody remember the song done by Lloyd Price called "Personlity" back in the latter part of the 1950s ?

My favorite qoute from Farscape is the time that Scorpius says The unique is always valued.

Does not the whole suffer when you take away the unique quality that makes up that person's individuality ? I remember this line back in my days as Chancellor of the Lost Colony Tardis.

Now I am going to change gears here. Back at one DixeTrek in the 1980s, I was in this hotel which must have been designed by a pure disciple of Escher. It was so bad that I start filking the song Welcome to the Hotel California to Welcome to the Hotel Castrovalva . All we needed was to have someone dress up like the fifth Doctor in the Dr Who series, saying that he got caught in a space time trap. It would have been perfect. .

Some years ago, I was busy talking with a group of people about John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Warth. I was trying to learn something about the book. I was given a free CD. On one of the bonus tracks Ray Bradbury and Richard Rodriguez are talking about The Grapes of Wrath. I met Ray Bradbury at Dragon Con in 1998 in Atlanta, GA.

Both of you have made very good points. Maybe the problem is how
does the group impress people and show them that we are the
authentic genuine article. There is an old saying that a picture is
worth a thousand words. A good thing in this group displays we
always use pictures from our meetings ,partys. shows to make our
point.

Matthew I was wondering have you got done looking at Volume one of
anime series called Beck. I just got done last night seeing volume 1
of Beck myself. It seems to me that the story does move a bit slow.
I love the artwork done by Madhouse Studio. Madhouse Studio did a
great job capture urban life of a hard-living undergrond rock
musicans. I like to sometime check out the manga of Beck. How about
you Matthew ?

Tomorrow I will be starting to work on Feb meeting flyer for NC
Rowan County Anime Group. It is a good thing because in that month
we will be showing old anime called They Were 11. We will be showing
this anime subtitle only.
